Free Market, Supply-Side Jesus

My partner and I were eating brunch the other day when I began a conversation with the title of this diary.  She had to work not to spit out the food she'd just put in her mouth and told me I had to have a diary by this title.  So, here it is.

The only problem was that my lovely and wonderful partner did not exactly give me any details as to what the body of the diary should be . . . but, as I've had a few weeks away from DKos to think about what needs to be written, I'll take a stab at this thusly:

With Donald Trump in the running for the Republican nomination for President, it has given me pause to think about the last MBA president we had and how government really cannot be run at all like a business.  Verbal gaffes and bigotry aside, Mr. Trump is also a stereotypical businessman who adheres to modern standards and practices of running his various businesses.  These standards and practices of business management are singularly devoid of ethics, morality and a sense of fair play, exactly what Free Market, Supply-Side Jesus espoused all those centuries ago.

Now, on the other hand, we have Sen. Sanders, a self-identified socialist Democrat, who thinks businesses and government should be operating with a sense of fair play and guided by a strong set of ethics and a clear morality.  He thinks that the old sense of noblesse oblige should be brought to bear -- meaning that those with more money should pay more in taxes and that those with more power should take care of those with less power.
